Medical Health Care FSA
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are tax-advantaged financial accounts that can be set up through employers’ cafeteria plans in the United States. An FSA allows an employee to set aside a portion of his or her earnings to pay for qualified expenses as established in the cafeteria plan, most commonly for medical expenses. Money deducted from an employee’s pay into an FSA is not subject to payroll taxes, resulting in a substantial payroll tax savings.
Limited Purpose FSA
A Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is generally offered in conjunction with a health savings account (HSA), and is a tax savings account that reimburses employees for eligible dental and vision care expenses. A Limited Purpose FSA is simply a flexible spending account that limits the eligible expense to those that are allowed under IRS Code Section 223 as permitted coverage thus allowing those enrolled in an HSA to become eligible to also contribute to the Limited Purpose FSA.
